For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us,
so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures
we might have hope. –Romans 15:4
Be My Comfort
I am laid low in the dust
My soul is weary with sorrow
Take away the disgrace I dread
May Your unfailing love be my comfort
My soul faints with longing for Your salvation
My eyes fail, looking for Your promise
I have suffered much
Save me for I am Yours
Rivers of water run down from my eyes
Trouble and anguish have overtaken me
Consider my affliction and deliver me
Plead my cause and redeem me
Let my cry come before You O LORD
Let Your hand become my help
Though the wicked bind me with ropes
Deliver me according to Your word
My comfort in my suffering is this
Your promise preserves my life
For You have given me hope
Uphold me and I will be delivered
