Old Meets New 2 – The Tears God Cried

In this life we have all had times of sorrow.  Not just a sadness that brings a night of tears and then joy in the morning, but rather a deep, soul-felt sorrow, that ensnare our hearts and brings emotional, gut wrenching pain. I have walked that line in my life, been in the alley of darkness, and down the streets of confusion, but God has brought me great peace through His love and His hand in my life.  He has unveiled my clouded eyes so that I can see the goodness of life.  He has surrounded me by Godly, loving women and men that have encouraged me, and shown me what love looks like.  He has blessed me with a wonderful son who shows me everyday that life is a blessing indeed.  Even if you hover in the shadows of fear, pain, trauma, abuse, depression, or despair, know that there is a light-a wonderful light beyond you that can fill all the voids and bring healing to the broken.   Reach out to those who love you, go to your local church and seek counsel, fellowship with people you trust…and let the power of God touch you as never before!

The Spirit of the Sovereign is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.  He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.  They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.  ~ Isaiah 61:1-3

God will bring you joy, cover you with his light, heal your broken heart, and bring freedom for your wounded soul.  TRUST in Him….and you will be renewed.  In His love!

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus…I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.  ~ Philippians 4:7, 13

The Tears God Cried

Who are you?
Scared little girl
Hiding behind the fake laugh
Dreadfully fearing the dark secrets
Horrified someone will find out

Who can you turn to?
Those who should be trustworthy
Were your very betrayers
Those you trusted
You feared would reject you

You were a child
An innocent blessing given from God
Placed in the arms of adults
Adults who were supposed to protect you
Instead they stole your innocence

God cried for you
He was angry for your very pain
Saw the hurts that no one else saw
Peering into your heart and soul
He wept for the darkness residing there

Were you guilty?
Never for a moment
The guilt and shame you carried
It was meant for your aggressors
Those who belittled and mistreated you

Gods plan for you continued
When evil reigned so harshly in your young life
And torment altered your path
He stayed with you
Blessing you with strength

The strength was not physical
Nor was it even mental
Instead God blessed your soul
Deep within He gave you strength
Strength of spirit to grow and love

Can you love?
You can love where you are
How far you have come
You can love because God loved you
Even when you did not
