Don’t let the world dictate what makes you beautiful, let God speak to you and show you the true beauty that exists externally, but more importantly, internally, for He created you in His image, and He makes no mistakes (Genesis 1:26-27)! Quit with the fad diets, cosmetic surgeries, and starvation regimens, and start seeing who you are in Gods eyes and treat your body like the temple it was designed by God to be (1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20)!
I was reading through some old poems I had collected over the years, and landed on Beauty Tips by Audrey Hepburn. As you read it, remember that the world’s view of beauty through external perfection will one day fade, wither, and die (Proverbs 31:30), but the internal beauty of the heart and soul will remain for eternity!
God bless you, and may you know that you are beautifully made by God Himself, who created you on purpose for a purpose to grace this world with your presence, and may you seek internal beauty that will last forever, rather than searching for quick fixes that will cost you time, money, possibly health, and will be only temporary.
And let not your adornment be merely external:
braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses;
but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.
– 1 Peter 3:3-4
Beauty Tips ~ Audrey Hepburn
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed;
never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself,
and the other for helping others.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries,
or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode, but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows.
The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years.
But the LORD said to Samuel,
“Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him;
for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance,
but the LORD looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7
Advertising is made to sell us on products that will make women more beautiful externally and to sell men on all the products they need to be masculine and for all of us to be sexy. But much goes on behind the scenes to make the illusion of perfection come alive. Click on the image below to gain a glimpse of what I am referring to……
