Waiting Once Again!

I am so ecstatic at the way God moves, but let me assure you it is not always easy. There are things in life we all desire. Perhaps a job, a spouse, children, to travel, and on and on the list may go for some. However, I find it so amazing how God moves. No matter my desire (or yours), he moves in his time, not mine, and always for my best (and yours!). Looking back on my life, I can say with confidence that every time God said no to my desires he brought something better than I could have imagined into my life. Every time he asked me to wait, he met my desire to the fullest. Job lost everything in his life that he held dear, but in his heart and soul, deep within his spirit, he knew God had a plan, and what a plan it was indeed. As he waited during the catastrophic struggle of his life, he held tight to his hope in God’s promises, and was blessed beyond measure, more than he could ever have imagined.

I want to encourage you, to tell you, that though you may be walking through the darkest valley, struggling to keep your head above the water, or crying out to God in the moments of loneliness, HE IS WITH YOU. He may be telling you NO to your hearts desire. He may be asking you to WAIT for the storm to pass. He may be telling you YES to things you don’t think you want. Hold tight, pray, seek his face, meditate on his word, and rest in the truth that he WILL work ALL things out for your GOOD and for his GLORY.

God be with you, and may you feel his presence as you wait! All my love ❤

Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.
Proverbs 8:34

Waiting Once Again!

Yearning for so much more

Crying out for Your will to be done

Pressing onward
Stepping out on faith that all will work for my good

Focusing on Your agenda and not my own

Waiting on You to move Lord God

Falling on My Knees

When there is nothing left to do…all I can do if fall on my knees!

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand,
that he may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
~ 1 Peter 5:6-7 ~

I Will Believe

There are times in life we just have to wait! If you have had the luxury of not waiting for anything, you are certainly in the minority!! We have to wait for home loans to go through and paychecks to come. We have to wait in line at the grocery store and the bank. We have to wait for the birth of our children and for them learn that we really do know what we are talking about.  Hurry up and wait; the old adage goes.

If you are waiting for the perfect someone, praying that he or she will come soon, rest assured God will bring that person at just the right time. He will make the connection when you are strong in him, independent and not reliant on anyone. He will send your future spouse when he or she is ready for a deep and meaningful relationship. Don’t push, don’t run from person to person! Just wait. Wait on the Lord and His timing, knowing that all things will work for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose.

Believe me, as a single mom, I have done my share of waiting!  I wrote this poem during one of those lonely times in 2004, and have learned much from waiting, which I am still doing by the way.  Hang in there, and hold onto the Lord during the tough times and the long waits, because the sun will come out and the person God designed for you will be there at just the right time.  God bless and keep you. ❤

Wait on the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in His word I hope. ~ Psalm 130:5

And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. ~ Matthew 21:22

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. ~ Luke 11:9-10

I Will Believe

My Lord, I am so tired
Chasing dreams that never seem to come
Running in circles
Tying to figure out what to do
The answers elude me
So I turn to You God
I struggle to hear You
To know Your path for me
I can read it in Your word
Hear it through my friends
But I long to see You
Meet You face to face
So many questions
Chaos spinning in my mind
I cannot feel You Lord
Though I can see You in the beauty that surrounds
If only You could reach down from the gates of Heaven
Your touch would make my day
It is a part of who I am
The way You made me Lord
To touch, feel, hug, caress
I thrive on human contact
Though some people can be distant
Live without constant touch
I shrivel and die both inside and out
Oh, to feel that love again
To be embraced and held
To rest in the intimate arms of another
Lord, I long for that day
The day You fulfill Your promise
The day when You meet my heart’s desire
Is it too much to ask
At times I fear it is
But You beckon me to ask
And You promise I shall receive
By Your grace and mercy I shall wait
With all hope vested in You

Ah, the freedom of the Lord!

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 61:1-3

Thank you Lord for your everlasting love! Thank you for your spirit that guides, inspires, renew, and breathes life into the darkness of our hearts and minds. May we remember you are our first love. You are our freedom from the shackles of this world. You are our hope for a future. You are our light in the darkness. You are our Creator, our Lover, our Father, our Friend, our King, and our heart’s desire! Help us to hold onto you always, living each day for you and you alone!

Settle for less
Or strive for the best

Simple question really. Do you settle for what the world has to offer, or do you strive to claim the best of what God has to offer? God has so many blessings he desires to bestow on you, on me, on all of His children, yet we turn our back and decline. We settle for what the world gives, and then wonder why we are constantly searching for more. Only God can make your life complete. Only He can fill the voids of your heart and soul. Only the Lord can bring you the purity of life everlasting!

So I ask again…

Settle for less
Or strive for the best

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other,
or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. ~ Matthew 6:24

Remember Why!

Believe it or not, you are not on this earth to get things, to have more stuff, and to live the life you always dreamed!  Seriously….you aren’t.  Now I am not saying that these things are bad at all.  You are designed to live life and to live it fully, just not the way your worldly eyes perceive.   You were created by a God who has plans for you, bigger plans than your earthly dreams can comprehend.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

Proverbs 16:19 A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.

You were created to bring God and the message of Christ to this lost and dying world.  Will you get more things by doing this?  Will you live the life YOU dreamed?  Will you have more stuff to keep you busy?  Maybe.  But doing the work of the LORD is the most rewarding work you will ever do!!  The treasure you accumulate here on Earth will one day pass away, and LORD knows you can’t take it with you when you die.  However, the treasure you store up in Heaven will never rust, never be destroyed by pests, and will not get broken or stolen away from you.  No, the treasure you accumulate in heaven will last forever and will be much more precious than anything you could get or achieve here on earth.

Matthew 6:19-20 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do no break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Be true to your path…true to the plans of God.  Go and minister to all around you!  Share the good news that Christ has come to save the lost and that He indeed rejoices for all of His children.  You may not be good at speaking or maybe you are shy or stutter.  You may fear what people may think of you, but you can share His message of love by showing love to others in word and in deed!  If you struggle with words, then show who God is in your life through deed….serve, give, provide.   Be the witness you were called to be and remember…God uses the imperfect to show His perfection and you CAN do ALL things through Christ who gives you strength (Philippians 4:13).

God bless and keep you, and give you the courage, strength, and wisdom to share His love with those He brings your way.

Rejoice in the LORD always and again I say rejoice!!

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.   ~Luke 15:71

Remember Why!

I know in my heart the time is ebbing closer each and every day

The time when God will say He’s had enough and whisk us all away

To love yourself is simply inadequate to access the gates of Heaven

It takes reaching out to others and let them know they are forgiven

Always be loving, compassionate, kind, and caring to all whom you encounter

And know that surely you too would be lost if Christ’s sacrifice had not occurred

The weak, misguided, bitter, and the hateful are those that we must reach

In order to God’s disciples, His word to them we’re required to teach

They may recoil and even turn away, but we must continue our mission

Te reach each and every lost soul, should become our life’s ambition

Remember tonight as you kneel to pray that God has blessed you so

While thanking him for all you have, pray for those who do not know

Never forget there is a reason He places the lost sheep in your path

To help them find His truth, to turn from sin, and avoid His day of wrath

Be ever vigilant and stand strong in your faith because certainly that’s the key

To storing treasures that will last in God’s breathtaking eternity

Old Meets New 8 ~ Replete

Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness,
but rather offer yourselves to God,
as those who have been brought from death to life;
and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.
Romans 6:13

My mind it tires
Weary from the to and fro
Searching, longing
Seeking a home in which to go

Chasing dreams yet to come
Praying for wisdom untold
Seeking God’s guidance
All in time will unfold

Hopes going up and down
Heart needing more of God
Waiting, yearning
Stuck behind a façade

Taking the reins of life
Constantly seeking control
Struggling to surrender
Body, mind, heart, and soul

Teach me Your knowledge Lord
Be a lamp unto my feet
Be the treasure of my existence
With peace and love replete

The mind tends to race, thinking of things yet to come, analyzing relationships or lack thereof.  Often you want what you cannot have or have what you do not want.  Life takes you on a roller coaster of ups and downs, helping you to realize how much more you need God each day.

When I struggle, I tend to find that I am fighting God for control, fighting against His plan for my life.  I get frustrated, lose hope, and sometimes wish He would just come and take me home already.  It is in that moment that God reaches into my heart, touches my soul, and speaks to my mind, revealing that He does have a plan, He is in control, and He wants nothing but the best for me.  In my impatience, I yearn and seek control.  In my surrender, I give Him all, trusting He will see me through and truly give me the desires of my heart. In times where I battle for what I want, or what I think I want, it is then that the Spirit brings to my mind my life verse: I wait on the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in His word I do hope. Psalm 130:5. That scripture has carried me through more trials of waiting, and through the most difficult of times…knowing that indeed, He is my hope, my all in this life, and the only one who won’t let me down, but will build me up and make me to be all He created me to be.

It is my prayer that you will hold fast to His love for you, knowing that He will guide you to the treasures of your heart, and bring you to a place where love and peace walk hand in hand.

All my love!

Old Meets New 5 – Desires of the Heart

There are simply times in my life when what I desire and pray for  seem to be left empty.  I have all I need, but for some reason I am sometimes wanting more.  Perhaps it is the echo of the world in my ear, or maybe the ticking of  my internal clock.  Could they be true desires of my heart, or  are they longings that will fill voids of loneliness, heartbreak, or fear?  Whatever the drive, desires are strong, deep, and emotional fixtures of this life.  I may desire more, and my desires may be Godly, but the timing is never my own.  God is the only who knows me inside and out, from birth to death.  He knows when I need to move, and what is the best time for my God-given desires to be filled.

The only issue now…..patience!  Often God does not meet the desires of your heart for he knows you are not ready for what they will bring into your life.  Wait on his timing so that your heart and our mind can be renewed, transformed, strengthened, and prepared for the wonderful blessings he has in store for you!

Psalm 130:5 I wait on The LORD, my soul does wait, and in his word I hope.

While one door may be closed, God will open another one….in his timing.  Until then, wait on the LORD, and know that the desires of your heart that align with his good and perfect will, will be met when you are truly, deeply ready!

Until then, God bless and may patience and perseverance be with you!  All my love ❤

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

Anxious to move on
Hoping I will see the signs

Desiring for so much more
Longing to start again
Earnestly my heart pines

Somewhere inside doubt exists
Feeling I am not good enough
Thinking it will never last

Wanting to press on
Fearing the unknown
Stuck in a relational impasse

Praying for guidance
Seeking God in all I do
Patiently surrendering my will

Asking Him to be my all
Letting Him be the one in charge

One Life to Live

This is the day the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. –Psalm 118:24

One Life to Live

Delight in the day
Enjoy the moment
For you have only one life to live
Savor the special times
Relax in God’s love
Offer heart and hands, always give
Bask in the beauty
Appreciate the little things
Let go of wrongs done and forgive
Welcome the trials
Pray through the tribulations
Allow God to work through and revive
Value lessons learned
Reflect the journey past
For you have only have one life to live

So thankful for another day to live.  Yes, there are trials, there are tribulations, there are even tough decisions to make that may hurt others or offend, but still I have life.  I am blessed with breath.   I am blessed with eyes that see the beauty of a rose in bloom and trees with sparkling buds of life springing forth.  I am blessed with ears to hear the laughter of children echo through the playground and the singing of birds celebrating the warmer weather.   I am blessed with family and friends who love me, though it is imperfect, they still love.  I am blessed to have a home in which to sleep, a  bed with cozy covers to keep me from the cold nights.  I am blessed with food to eat, even if I gain weight when I do.  I am blessed with fresh water to drink, chlorine or other oddities may be there, but they do not make me sick nor does it have parasites.  I am indeed blessed.  In 1 Chronicles 4:10, “Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.”  I am Jabez today, realizing the potential that God has to fulfill all that I need, my wishes, my desires…all that lines up with His plan for my life.  God has granted my request and I am indeed blessed.  I pray that you will tap into all God has for you.  Ask Him to keep His hand upon you, to protect you, to enlarge your life with His ministries, to bless you indeed.  See where it will take you and bask in the eternal glory that is only from God.  May you be at peace, may you find joy amidst life, may you be blessed indeed.  All my love.

Face to Face

In this increasing world of technology, we find that meeting people can happen anywhere from church, school, or the grocery store, to internet chat rooms and online games.  I happen to have met a gentleman online over 7 months ago.  We have spent time IM-ing and emailing and then progressed to texting and talking on the phone and are about to meet face to face.  Many are skeptical, saying there must be other ways to meet someone so you can know them better, on a more real world level.  Others are adamant that online meeting is taboo, creating a sense of relationship without connection.  Others feel it is an awesome avenue, especially for those opposed to the bar scene or who are too busy to get out and hang with others consistently.

I personally stand on the fence, to be honest, for I have had bad experiences and good experiences from meeting people online.  I have also met people who have had horrific experiences online, but I also know two couples who have actually met someone online and are happily married.  Either way you look at it, you have to admit, in this world of technology and the ever shrinking global community, meeting online is becoming the norm in today’s society.  With much caution, even more prayer, and the hope that God will lead my heart and mind in His ways, I excitedly look forward to what God brings into my life, be it someone who lives down the street, someone who attends my church, or someone I meet by chance in the grocery store or online.  There is an excitement and air of giddiness when you have talked to someone for months and will finally be meeting face to face.  It is kind of like pen-pals that finally get to put a face to the personality they have been getting to know letter after letter.  I happily proceed into the technology of online friends and online dating, but remain open to the people God places right in front of me as well.

I have been single for 10 years now and have been growing ever stronger in my walk with God, trusting that He will only open doors that He desires me to walk through, and knowing with full confidence that He will close the doors He wants me to walk away from.  The primary struggle at this point with any relationship is that of the flesh.  The desire to move faster than God intends due to fleshly desires and emotional loneliness that pulls one down toward temptation is strong and must be combated consistently and fervently with prayer, meditation on God’s word, strong boundaries, and Christian accountability partners.  With full assurance that as I walk in obedience with God He will give me the desires of my heart, I wait on His timing and allow Him to lead me in all my ways and give me strength to resist temptation and WAIT.

For anyone else embarking on the journey of online friendships and dating, I caution you to take things slowly and trust and seek God’s guidance through His word and in prayer.  I also ask that you find Christian friends in your inner circle to keep you accountable to God and self.  I pray you enjoy life as I have and that you remain open to whatever God has planned for you my friend.   May the Lord bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand, fill your desires to the fullest and pour continual love into the emotional loneliness of life.  All my love.

I wait on the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in His word I do hope. Psalm 130:5
