The beauty of the Lord surrounds you each and every day! Have you taken time to enjoy it, breathe it in, live in the glorious splendor that is His creation. There may be imperfections in the human day-to-day interactions of life, but when you glance at brilliant sunset, feel the caress of a gentle breeze, and smell the fragrance of a beautiful rose, there is no doubt that God created perfection! Wonders and beauty unsurpassed
Exquisite paintings of divinity
Sunrise and sunset intoxicate
Delicate allure of something more
Gloriously designed hues captivate
Flowers delicately bloom fragrant
Majestic trees outstretched
A palate of colors ever so vibrant
Seas ebbing rhythmically to and fro
Gentle waves hypnotizing
Mountains of wonderment to behold
Sparkling sun oh so bright
Stars dance and spin in procession
Darkened world lit by moonlight
Lovely breezes that embrace
Rains bring unyielding growth
Vivid portraits of divine grace
Beauty that awakens love
Stunning images capture imagination
A royal tapestry from heaven above

The Mess and the Masterpiece

There are times when the church and those within its walls are considered to be hypocrites, which turns many off to the church experience. The reality is that every human being in existence is a hypocrite, whether they acknowledge it or not (only Christ walked the line of pure truth and never came close to being hypocritical).  There is one standard we tend to set for ourselves, while we often hold a higher standard for others. There have been moments where someone has promised something that went undelivered. There have been times where a parent has told a child not to something they consider inappropriate, only to turn around and do the very same thing they just told their child not to do. There are times where people lie, whether a little white lie or bold-faced lie, it is still a lie and not a true representation of what we think or feel. There are moments where we all lose our temper, saying things that can be hurtful out of anger or pain when we know better. I think you get my drift. People screw up. We make messes in our life, and at times the lives of others, whether on purpose or accident. We all make mistakes and we all walk the line of being a hypocrite each day that we have life and breath in our bodies. I have been labeled a hypocrite at times for a variety of reasons, some good and accurate, others out of anger or frustration when someone does not like what I have to say.

The purpose of church is not to create perfect people, it is to help broken people find healing and hope in their Creator! The purpose of church is not to point out faults, but to meet you where you are, and bring forgiveness and love! The purpose of church is not to clean up life’s messes for you and make it all better, but to point you in the direction of the One True God who can come alongside of you and lead you out of them, creating a stronger, more faithful, loving, and compassionate person!

Today’s sermon, titled “The Mess and the Masterpiece” speak to this beautifully, so I figured I would share it with you. May it bless you as it did me.

Up or Down

Reality will come! Whether we choose to walk in it or not is a conscious decision each person must make for themselves.  Nothing we hide will remain hidden, nothing we shove on the back burner will be left there, nothing covered up by fake smiles and masks will go unrevealed. God wants us heart and soul, body and mind, and he will do all it takes to strip away the masks, putting a stop to the parade of illusions we tend to paint for ourselves. He wants rip off the band-aids of our wounds, and bring complete healing inside and out. Though the pain of life comes, and often hits pretty hard, it lasts but only a moment, to be replaced by the glorious love, peace and comfort of the One True God!! I am not exempt of putting on a mask to make it through the day, but when the sun sets and my head rests upon the pillow, God speaks his love and truth to my heart, reminding me to stop putting on my best show and to be a living witness to the pain and sorrow that exists in my life and my heart, so that when he brings healing and joy, others will see his marvelous works.

Father God, if it glorifies you, I pray you give me strength to stand in the here and now, to be real with my emotions, bringing you glory through the healing!! I pray that no matter what I or others face, you remind us that you are near, you are here, you are working all things for our good, Father.

May God bless and keep you grounded in reality, showing you peace and joy through your darkest of times. All my love ❤

Painted faces masquerade
Breezes blowing here and there
Effortlessly gliding through life
Not what they appear

Painful scars covered up
Masks to hide the tears
Parading up and down

Dancing feet scurry by
Twirling delicately each day
Tiptoeing around the darkness
Desperately seeking a way

Holding tight to illusions
Mirrors of perfection held high

Streets paved with eggshells

Never reveal the unsightly

Swinging through the air
Up and down they go
Stepping in front of the curtain
Putting forth the best show
