Who Do You Say I Am??

“When Jesus came to the region of Ceasarea Philippi, he asked his disciples,
‘Who do people say the Son of Man is?’
They replied, ‘Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah;
and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’
‘But what about you?’ he asked.  ‘Who do you say I am?’
Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.'”
Matthew 16:13-16

Taken from “Above All” by Brennan Manning:

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Son of Man, the Son of David and the son of Mary. He is the Word made flesh, the Incarnation of the compassion of the Father. He is Messiah, Savior, Dreamer and Storyteller, Servant, Friend, and Parable of God. Close to the brokenhearted, He speaks words of comfort; He revives the crushed in spirit with words of consolation. Rescuing drunks, scalawags, and ragamuffins, He is the Prophet, Poet, and Troublemaker, the Scourge of hypocrites and the authority figures who use religion to control others, sending them sagging under great burdens of regulations, watching them stumble and refusing to offer assistance….When He looks out at the bedraggled, beat-up, bollixed, and burnt-out, His heart overflows with unspeakable tenderness.

Christ is often one thing to many and many things to all! He is the beginning and the end, the bridge to God, the beauty of God-given to us as a most precious gift! Whatever you say Christ is, one thing is for sure….He is the Messiah, come to save the hearts and souls of all mankind…including you and me!!

May you dwell in the astonishing revelation of who Christ is, and may his glory be revealed in every fiber of your being!! God bless and keep you always in his never-ending love and grace ❤

11 Days of Christmas

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world,
but that the world might be saved through Him.
~ John 3:16-17 ~

More than just presents
More than the tree and stockings
Christ is the reason

Jesus is the Reason!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
~ Isaiah 9:6

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold,
I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
~ Luke 2:11

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
~ John 3:16

Jesus is the Reason

Christmas day is here at last

With presents and decorations galore

The tree stands aglow

Twinkling like the stars in the night sky

A reminder of the that one blessed eve

Over 2,000 years ago

The angels appeared to the shepherds below

Telling the birth of Immanuel

He is the ultimate gift and Savior to the lost world

Born in Bethlehem, a lowly babe

Sent from Heaven above

God gave us His only Son to live and die

A sacrifice for all mankind

Though presents are lovely

And stockings filled with goodies bring a smile

Remember that fateful night long ago

He is the reason we celebrate

The magi came from afar to worship and adore

They brought Him gifts of frankincense, gold and myrrh

The gifts we give to one another are thoughtful indeed

But the best gift we can give

Is the message of eternal life and love

Give the true gift of Christmas this year

Give the message of God’s mercy and grace

The promise of forgiveness of sins

A hope for an eternal life spent with Him

God bless and keep you and your family always, and may you have the courage to share the love and sacrifice of Christ on this blessed Christmas day!
