Exodus and the Red Sea

part red sea

I just began a new study titled, “Survey of the Bible Part 1 (Old Testament)” through the Blue Letter Bible Institute online, covering the books of Genesis through Song of Solomon. When diving into the second chapter, “Exodus: Design for Deliverance”, there were several truths that came to my heart and resonated with me that I felt led to share. May they bless your heart and mind as they have me tonight.

One: God has an amazing sense of humor and he orchestrates all events into His plan, even when I don’t see it!!

Two: God never holds us guilty for feeling inadequate when he asks us to do something. In fact, knowing that we are human, he expects it. However, he does get angry with us when we challenge his strength and ability to use us as instrumental tools to build his kingdom. When Moses told God he was inadequate to deliver the people from Egypt, God recognized that and reassured Moses that he would be his tongue and speak through him. But when Moses told God he needed to get somebody else, even after God had promised to be his tongue and speak through him, God was angry that Moses did not fully trust in what He promised.

Three: “Decision brings the power of God to bear on our lives and sets us free from the guilt of the past and we can rejoice in that…But there is also the experience of passing through the Red Sea, that call to move forward, and cut off your ties with the world, and take steps that will allow the river of God’s judgment to flow between you and the ways of the world. When you take that step, you move out into that place where God dwells within you.”

Four: Our walk with God requires movement, action on our part. We cannot just sit and expect Him to do great things in our lives, we have to actively seek and trust in Him and actively live in obedience and love.

Five: The church was never meant to be a building where God is confined. Rather, the church of the Old Testament was a shadow of the house of God made alive in each of our hearts. 1 Cor. 3:16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? With the new covenant of Christ, we have become the church…mobile, active, shared, connected. Church is beautiful when in a building, but even more spectacular when it comes alive through His people in the day to day routine of life.

May the Word of God come alive through you and may you be His hands and feet in a lost and dying world, a beacon of His hope in the darkness.

God is Greater

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord,
plans to prosper you not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

grace

God is greater
Larger than the obstacles you face
He knows your past and your sins
Yet offers you limitless grace

Hold tight to His truths
For in His arms you can stand
Know He is with you
Guiding you with His mighty hand

He sees your pain and shame
His heart bleeds for you
Let it go and surrender
For His promises will see you through

May the obstacles you face be merely a speck in the scheme of life, and may you always know that God is with you through it all, with a promise to bring you good, to prosper you, to bless you abundantly more than you can ever imagine! May this new year bring peace and joy despite the storms that rage around or in you!

Guilty {newsboys}

It has been a while since I have had some time to sit and enjoy the pleasure of writing! Somehow life just gets busy and time escapes me. Nonetheless, God has blessed me with some time to touch base and share a beautiful song from Newsboys! May this be the mantra of every Christian and may the movement of Christ bring hope and light to a world filled with despair and darkness.

Why?

Searching for meaning? Seeking more for your life? Have the nagging feeling that there is more to your existence than the day-to-day routine? Guess what? You are right! You are called to so much more than what this world has in store for you. Did you know you were designed by God Himself for a purpose? You were created to fulfill a mission that is of the utmost importance! Yes, you!! You are called to share the word of God, to bring His truth into deceived hearts, to bring hope to those who have lost theirs, to be a light that shines midst the darkness. You were created on purpose for a purpose. As scripture says in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” God designed you to desire more than the mundane routine of this world! Stand in His strength and live your life to the fullest! Glorify God’s kingdom and bring eternal joy to your heart.

All my love! ❤

He said to them,
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved,
but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
Mark 16:15-16

why

Why?

Why am I here?
What is my purpose?
There is an answer
I do propose

You were created on purpose
To fulfill your destiny
Designed to share God’s love
Even in the midst of scrutiny

You were created for such a time as this
To declare the mystery that is of God
Revealing His truth
Breaking through the world’s facade

You have been called to something higher
A mission from God, the Creator Himself
You were created to shine His light
Not to live for yourself

You are needed to bring salvation to the lost
To shine light were darkness resides
You can be an instrument God uses
Bringing  hope to desperate, longing lives

Why are you here?
To reveal God to the lost and dying hearts that be
What is your purpose?
To stand in faith that shines for the entire world to see

Listen to your heart
Heed that still small voice
Know that you were made for so much more
Will you stand on your own or abide in His choice?

13 Days of Christmas

Jesus said to him,
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
~ John 14:6 ~

Lighten the darkness
Be forever near us Lord
Bringing life to all

Broken Heart

The moon will shine like the sun,
and the sunlight will be seven times brighter,
like the light of seven full days,
when the LORD binds up the bruises of his people
and heals the wounds he inflicted.
~ Isaiah 30:26

Broken Heart

Intense pain of a haunting past
Anguish consumes the heart
Bleeding under God’s crushing hand
Torturous to mind and soul
Struggling simply to exist
Lord, You cut the heart deeper each time
Endless lies once festering pour out freely
Creating wounds that reveal your truth
This affliction is so harsh, so devastating
Why does it have to be so hard?
You slice and rip the flesh apart
Bringing brokenness once again
To embrace Your truth means letting go
Releasing deceptions harbored in the dark
Lovingly this pain flows forth
Leaving room for a God filled heart
