About

A glimpse into the heart behind Journey with God!

I am the daughter of The Righteous King.  I am also a newly, happily married woman enjoying the beauty and love that flows from being in a God-centered marriage…and ever so thankful and blessed.  I am proud mom of a wonderful young man who never ceases to amaze me!  He is now a young adult venturing into a new world with his first job and the beginnings of college and it my deepest desire to be a living example of God’s love to him.  How better to guide his faith, than through actions grounded in love and grace.  In this ever increasing world of chaos, confusion, and deceit, he will need the strength that only God can provide to help him overcome temptations and choose the path of righteousness, as do all of us.

We all reside in a world filled with sin and struggles beyond what we can understand. I have personally climbed mountains of despair, been in valleys of fear, yet have clung to the power of the Cross to see me through. I have waited in the alleys of the unknown and pondered life through the lens of abuse, yet still I love because God has loved me. I fall, I sin, I pray, I repent, I change, I renew, I transform because God is full of mercy and grace. Through His sacrifice for me I have found salvation and have become the daughter of the righteous King, an heiress to eternal life. I am thankful for how far God has brought me and how much I have come to see myself through His eyes rather than the worlds. It is my prayer that through my writings and poems God will inspire and ignite a fire that burns for Him in the hearts of others. I pray that His peace reigns in your life and His love fills your heart to overflowing. May God bless you and keep you always under the shadow of His wing and in the shelter of His power and might.

With all that said, let me give you a glimpse into what makes me tick! I adore writing, any kind of writing, but especially poetry! Poetry is a glimpse into the heart, revealing who we really are, what we struggle with, and how we view life. Poetry is an extension of our thoughts expressed with blunt honesty intertwined with emotionally charged visual language that stimulates the senses in those who read it. When we speak in day to day conversation the words are simple and straight to the point, but in poetry they are complex and elaborate, just as each day is.

I also have a passion for singing and love to worship my LORD and Savior when given the opportunity. To sit at His feet and let the cares of this world take a backseat to His love for me…there is no other feeling like it in the world!

I enjoy most anything comical when it comes to movies, so long as it is clean. Vulgarity and swearing are really not necessary to make a movie a classic…not to mention, there are billions of words in the human vocabulary, anyone with half a brain could use more entertaining words than those that are considered curse words or vulgar. I love most 80’s flicks as I am a product of that era…and it was a fun, interesting, and colorful one at that.

Contemporary Christian is my focus in the music realm as it keeps me grounded, lifts my spirits and reminds me how much I am loved by the Creator himself. I also enjoy 80’s music for its fun, vibrant melodies that make you want to jump up and dance.

My all time favorite book is….can you guess…the Bible! It is filled with inspiration, direction, wisdom, guidance, and hope. In this ever increasing world of despair and depression, it brings light and life to those who read it. If you have never taken a moment to glance at the pages within the Bible, take a moment and see what God has to say to you. After all, it is His love letter to the children He created…and that means you!

  1. I love it! Not just your About page but your love of poetry. I love your explanation (definition) “Poetry is a glimpse into the heart, revealing who we really are, what we struggle with, and how we view life. Poetry is an extension of our thoughts expressed with blunt honesty intertwined with emotionally charged visual language that stimulates the senses in those who read it. When we speak in day to day conversation the words are simple and straight to the point, but in poetry they are complex and elaborate, just as each day is.”
This really paints exactly how I feel about poetry and sadly no, I can not rhyme for anything though in the past I have really tried. But, my Lord who created me and knows my dilemma gave me a fantastic love for the expression of others and no, I do not exaggerate when I say I love it.
Thanks for stopping my site because of you following the leading of the Holy Spirit, He confirms what I prayed for when I started my blog; lead me to those that would inspire, encourage and continue to teach, those that fulfill their gifts and ministries in this great “Body of Christ” that He is creating in each of us.
I have been teaching and “trying” to serve the Lord for 40 plus years and I firmly believe that you CAN “teach an old dog new tricks,” and so I am an avid reader, a fervent student of the Word and I do my best to follow His leading when teaching and writing.
I follow a lot of blogs so I make the rounds two or three days a week reading and commenting especially as my fibromyalgia pain allows me to type. No complaining here, I just know that sometimes a while goes by and then I go all out when I feel able to do post and write.
I said all that to let you know I will be adding your site to my weekly “rounds” but if it takes a while to get back, know that I will be back, to me, it’s always in the Lord’s timing and not mine. His inspiration from other’s writing comes when He wants it to come! My trust and faith is in Him totally. I will also be listing your site among so many others I have on my Links page.
Again, thank you and God bless you so abundantly as you serve (minister) to all of us who read your posts as well as to the Lord, Christ Jesus whom we serve!
